You know those people who make you feel like you can do anything just by talking with them? Well, if you don’t you should. In fact, I’ll introduce you to two of them: Rebekah Boruki and Erin Stutland. Their words will inspire you, their programs will motivate you, and their smiles are contagious. That’s why I knew they had to be part of my February Things I Love by People I Love Giveaways.
I actually met Rebekah Boruki, better known as Bex, through social media. I can’t remember exactly how we first connected, but I know I first discovered her after working with yoga guru Tara Stiles, creator of Strala Yoga, on a Reebok project back in my NYC days. I started following Tara on YouTube, which brought me to Bex because she also taught Strala Yoga and had a YouTube channel that was blossoming. I was drawn to her because I had just found out I was pregnant with my first son, Landon, and Bex already had three kids (She now has five.), and she was clearly still fulfilling all her passions and desires. You can just tell from her videos that she is a true kindred spirit, and I can attest to the fact that she is exactly who you see on camera. We virtually connected and she has been a mentor to me ever since. Bex is a true guru when it comes to meditation and has an amazing free 21 day mantra challenge that I encourage you to sign up for. Her YouTube videos and Periscopes will brighten your day and simply make your life better. You can find her on all social media @bexlife.
WHAT Bex loves: Self-expression. I love to talk, create, make noise. I’m constantly seeking new ways to express myself and share all that I know with the world. My self-expression takes the form of raising my children mindfully, loving my husband, teaching yoga and meditation, working as a birth doula, and being creative in all parts of my life.
WHO Bex loves: It would be easier to say who I don’t love, but my top five would be God, my husband, my five babies, my dear friends (most of whom are in the wellness industry and double as business collaborators), and my online social media community.
Bex’s best ways to balance WHAT she loves with WHO she loves: Everything that I love is intertwined with the people I love. My prayer and meditation practice, my work, and my play all include my God, family, and friends. I’m lucky to have a job that I get to make the rules, so my husband and children often get to be part of the action. They travel with me, appear with me on TV, and my husband is my camera man for all my photos and videos. My goal has always been to have a career that supports me as a wife, mother, and vibrant independent woman. If anything gets in the way of that, it’s gone.
And now for my sister Erin Stutand. That’s right I said sister. What would you say if I told you Erin and I are sorority sisters from the University of Illinois? What?? Yes, we are both Kappa Kappa Gammas and former professional dancers. (Although I always say, once a dancer, always a dancer.) We’re both from Chicago suburbs and ended up in NYC pursuing careers in entertainment. We’ve had very similar paths, and her credentials are amazing, but what makes Erin truly unique is her creativity and her ability to guide people into positivity and enlightenment, and I truly mean that. I have had conversations with Erin about projects that seem overwhelming and after speaking with her, I have clarity and simple steps to take towards my goals. Her fitness program is called Shrink Sessions, which is a fusion of many exercise disciplines combined with affirmations so you are changing not only your body but your mind. You can get one of her workouts for free HERE. She also offers Soul Strolls, which is an audio program you can take on the go with you to help create movement in your body and in your life. Follow Erin everywhere at @estutland.
WHAT Erin loves: Creativity and inspiration
WHO Erin loves: My husband
Erin’s best ways to balance WHAT she loves with WHO she loves: Well, being with my husband always feels like a respite from the world. It is our own little cocoon of joy and happiness. With him, I am my most relaxed and at ease. Because of this, I get regenerated so that I can go out into the world and be creative, be inspiring and be inspired! So it is a lovely little circle of goodness!
