We ALL need to eat more greens but especially our kids, right? I’m sure you’ve heard of sneaking your greens into your kids’ smoothies . . . but what if they don’t like the consistency of smoothies (yet)? My solution is . . .
POPSICLES!!
Yep, just whip up your favorite green smoothie or make any smoothie you love and just sneak some spinach, kale or collard greens into it. Pour them into a popsicle mold, like our favorite Zoku Fish Pop Molds, freeze overnight and have your kids enjoy a “treat” with all the health benefits. Truth be told, since almost all my kids love smoothies, I usually just double or triple our smoothie recipe in the morning for breakfast or snack and then pour the rest into the molds.
Here’s our current favorite green popsicle (or smoothie) recipe:
1 frozen banana (if not frozen add ice)
1 avocado
handful of spinach or kale
handful of frozen pineapple (this sweetens it up, so if you need it sweeter add more pineapple)
2 cups of almond milk
