It’s hard to believe Thanksgiving is almost here! I think one of the most challenging things, with little ones, during this time of year is helping them what it truly means to be thankful.
So I thought I’d share 3 fun and easy ways that you can do to give thanks this year.
1) I am Thankful Chart: Each day, work with your child to write out and/or draw the things they are grateful for (i.e. grandma, teddy, the sunshine!).
What you’ll need:
- Paper
- Writing utensils, Crayons, pencils, etc…
- Something/somewhere to hang it!
2) Send a Picture: In the age of technology, how rare and meaningful it is to receive something handmade (or colored) that takes time and effort, and is drenched in love? Plus, it’s even fun for the little ones to ready the envelope for mailing.
What you’ll need:
- Paper
- Drawing items
- Envelope and potentially stamps for send off!
And Number 3 is reserved just for you, Mom…
3) Text or Call to Give Thanks: This allows us, in our busiest moments, to stop – breathe – and appreciate those in our lives who we are grateful for. I know there are a lot of people in my life who I am thankful for, and I feel like they deserve to know.
