My Easy & Quick NYC CrockPot Chili

This is probably the recipe that I have been making the longest and thus one of my favorites. Back in our 20’s when we were living in our 400 square foot apartment in New York City, I pretty much made one meal . . . this one. I was given a recipe from a wife of one of my husband’s co-workers and with a few tweaks, I turned it into our favorite meal. Because I didn’t cook a lot, I remember a sense of pride in cooking and serving this meal – mostly because Mr. B loved it so much. He hates beans so I’ve never added beans to this recipe, but especially if you are vegetarian, you’ll want to replace the meat with beans. Other than that don’t touch a thing!

Included in this post is a video of how to make it, with the help of Landon, who is around three at the time. I also made a FREE printable recipe card for you that you can download when you click HERE, so make sure you grab that as well.

INGREDIENTS:
2 pounds protein (ground turkey, ground beef) or 2 cans of beans of choice
29 oz of tomato sauce
29 oz of stewed or diced tomatoes
1 cup of mushrooms
1.5 TBSP of chili powder
1.5 tsp of oregano
1.5 tsp of cumin
1.5 tsp of paprika

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Precook meat and store in fridge to save time.
2. Add and stir all ingredients in the crock pot.
3. Cook on HIGH for 4 hours or on LOW for 6-8 hours
