Stepping outside your normal routine is good for you for so many reasons, whether it’s to challenge you, inspire you, or simply create an interesting memory.

This past Labor Day I was in NYC for a girlfriend’s bachelorette party and experienced my first pole dancing class at Body & Pole, with the amazing Kelly McLaughlin. The class was hot, steamy, and more fun than I had anticipated. I had been very skeptical going in and was surprised to not only get a good work out but smile and laugh the entire way through. Now keep in mind, this was a private class for a bachelorette party, so the energy in the room was definitely unique, and though we didn’t ALL know each other there was definitely a certain level of comfort in the room. Plus, I think we had one of the best instructors around, as she came highly recommended by my friend Marlo Fisken, who is the first American Fitness Pole Champion.
