Music That Keeps Me Motivated

Music is everything . . . especially when you are trying to get yourself motivated to workout after having a baby. It’s seriously been such a driving source in my workouts lately, so I thought I’d share my favorites in case you need some new ones for your playlist. (And please share with me your favorites in the comments!)

1. Man in the Mirror (Michael Jackson)

“I’m gonna make a change . . . For once in my life . . . It’s gonna feel real good . . . Gonna make a difference . . . Gonna make it right.”

Such a great warm-up song to get you motivated to get the job done.

2. Sexy Bitch (David Ghetta featuring Akon)

” Damn girl . . . Damn who’s a sexy bitch . . . ”

I assume the reasons I love this song are obvious. LOL But for real – the beat is amazing. Whenever I do dance cardio this is the first song on.

3. My Shot (Hamilton Musical)

“I’m not throwing away my shot!”

I like listening to this one when I’m lifting weights. I’m a musical theater geek so there is a lot of musical favorites on my Shuffle (Yes, I still use a shuffle.) I freakin’ love listening to the Hamilton soundtrack when I work out and when my kids are taking a bath. That’s not weird, right?

4. Most Girls (Hailee Steinfield)

“Most girls are smart and strong and beautiful . . . Most girls work hard, go far, we are unstoppable . . . Most girls, our fight to make every day . . . No two are the same . . . I wanna be like, I wanna be like most girls.”

This is my car jam and became a favorite of mine as soon as I had Kiera. It’s says everything I want to inspire her to be. I like it for dance cardio or any cardio for that matter.

5. All About that Bass (Meghan Trainor)

“I’m bringing booty back . . . Go ‘head and tell them skinny bitches that . . . No, I’m just playing, I know you think you’re fat . . . But I’m here to tell you . . . Every inch of you is perfect from the bottom to the top.”

Okay, seriously is there any better song to do squats too? Another one of my favorite strength training songs because I’m seriously “All about that base.”

Now it’s your turn? What are your favorite workout jams?
